Naveen rolls out rural housing project at his home turf

Patnaik unveiled the logo of the scheme at a public meeting held at Sheragada, under his home constituency Hinjili in Ganjam district

Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched the Biju Pucca Ghara Yojana (BPGY), a housing scheme for the rural poor in the state.

Patnaik unveiled the logo of the scheme at a public meeting held at Sheragada, under his home constituency Hinjili in Ganjam district. The chief minister also handed over the work order to five beneficiaries of each blocks- Aska, Dharakota, Hinjili, Sheragada and Sanakhemundi under the scheme, which aims to convert all kutcha houses into pucca houses over the next five years. "We have decided to launch the Shelter Security Mission in the state," Patnaik said while addressing a meeting at Hinjili. The scheme envisages to provide low-cost houses to the poor families.
