A day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh justified and clarified the “tough decisions” which his government took in the past few days, the social media is abuzz again with messages for the PM and the government.

Though a mixed response, most people emphasized that the PM should speak more often rather than being silent.

Among the widely followed people on Twitter, many including Pritish nandy and Suhel Seth voiced for the PM to speak more often.

“So we finally have an aggressive Prime Minister! One who is ready to speak directly to the people. Good,” Nandy wrote adding that the PM’s arguments for FDI in retail are convincing.

However, the attempted humour by the PM has become a point of criticism among the netizens. Numerous responses expressed that people know that the money does not grow on trees, it comes from the taxes they pay.

The social media sites like Facebook and Twitter also saw new supporters of reform decisions, particularly of Foreign Direct Investment. New Pages came up on Facebook supporting FDI.

At the same time, Mamata Banerjee too got massive support on social media for her questioning the definition of Aam Aadmi, with her official Facebook page abuzz with activity since then.
