Netxcell set to make overseas foray

Netxcell Limited, a privately-held mobile value-added services (VAS) provider, is planning to enter the overseas market by the end of the current financial year.

The company, which at present offers outbound and inbound dialing (OBT and IBT) utility services in the domestic market, is looking at opportunities abroad, East Africa (nine countries including Uganda) to start with, Kenny Cenecious, vice-president (sales-VAS) of Netxcell, told mediapersons here on Monday.

“We are in the process of tapping the East African markets from this October, when we will be installing our sales team there. We plan to participate in the Africa conference, to be conducted by the GSM Association in mid November, to leverage the potential and build our presence in the continent,” he said.

Stating that the company was also looking at entering the southeast Asia and West Asian markets, Cenecious said the company at present derived a majority of its revenues from the domestic market.

“Post our entry into the African and other markets, we expect our revenues to be in the ratio of 10:90 from the overseas and Indian market in the next 12 months, which is expected to be at 60:40 in 24 months from now,” he said. The company would add 20 professional this financial year to the present 135.
