New telemarketing registration from today

Online registration for telemarketers will begin from Saturday, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has said. The new ones must pay a registration fee of Rs 1,000 and a customer education fee of Rs 9,000. Existing ones need pay only the latter. No part-payment is permitted for registration, Trai said. The registration would be valid for three years, unless revoked earlier. Other provisions shall come into force from February 1.
