Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said that his government has tried to take some corrective measures to bring the state's economy back on track through the current Budget within the given limitations.

"Our ultimate goal is to achieve higher economic growth in the state which is not possible until the industrial and agricultural production has been stimulated to grow. We will concentrate on this objective in next year's Budget," he said while terming the current Budget as a reflection of ideas and experience of the Congress party.

"Our endeavour has always been to run the economy on the right track with a strong emphasis on economic growth," he said.

Citing the constraints of time in preparing the current annual Budget, he assured that next year's Budget would be much more better. He said that quite a number of poll promises have been included in the Budget, including free power to farmers.

"We have done a creative and innovative exercise in preparing the budget. Quantum jump in allocation to irrigation is one of the results to see," the chief minister said.
