This technology was pioneered by the Konkan Railway Corporation (KRC) but is yet to become a reality in Indian cities as it has not been sanctioned by the urban development ministry.
The ministry had asked the Railways, which in turn had asked the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) to sanction the technology.
