The West Bengal government has ruled out special economic zones (SEZ) status to IT major Infosys. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Monday the state government has decided against the SEZ and will stick to it.
"It can't be we will give SEZ status to Infosys and not give it to others when we have taken a policy decision that we will not go for SEZ. We cannot discriminate against the law. When we have decided not to give SEZ, we will stick to it," she said. The company was recently allotted 50 acre at Rajarhat area near the metropolis for setting up its first facility in the state.
