The civil aviation ministry is planning to formulate guidelines for mergers and acqusitions (M&As) in the domestic aviation sector in the wake of the proposed Jet-Air Sahara merger. Civil aviation minister Praful Patel said his ministry is examining various modalites to formalise the guidelines, and will take all international best practices of M&As before finalising the policy.Patel was replying to a query on infrastructure allocations to airlines in the wake of the propsed merger of Jet Airways and Air Sahara.Patel met the media in Mumbai this afternoon after a get-together hosted by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) after he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha for a second term.
