The Orissa government will have to submit the audit report and utilisation certificate by September every year to get the funds for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
If the audit report is not received or the observations of the Auditor in the audit report are not complied with to the satisfaction of the Union rural development ministry, the ministry may suspend the funding.
In such a situation, the responsibility for payment of unemployment allowances due to non-availability of funds will be on the state government, the Centre has said.
