The southern regional headquarters of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has secured ISO 9001/2000 quality management system certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi.
The certification exercise was completed in a span of five months.
The certification will further accelerate the standardisation process and strengthen systems approach at the regional headquarters.

By integrating all the systems and processes, the NTPC southern region is all set to achieve total quality management (TQM), according to a press release here.
NTPC plants in southern region - Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Station in AP, Kayamkulam combined cycle power project in Kerala, and Simhadri Thermal Power Plant - also possess the ISO certification.
The Ramagundam plant has received the ISO 14001 certification for environment management systems.
The Kayamkulam combined cycle power project in Kerala has the distinction of receiving both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
The project has also been certified for OHASAS 18001 and 5S. The contract and materials department of Simhadri thermal plant also has ISO 9002.
