Ocimum Biosolutions, a city-based life sciences contract R&D Company with operations in US, has announced the sale of its gene optimization bioinformatics software, OptGene, to US-based Dow AgroSciences, Anuradha Acharya, the CEO of Ocimum, stated in a release.
Dow AgroSciences is a leading company in the world in plant biotechnology with annual sales of $3 billion.
"OptGene combines a whole suite of gene design and analysis packages into one user-friendly and user-customizable program that replaces three programs that we used previously", Don Merlo, the senior research scientist (molecular biology group) at Dow AgroSciences, said.
OptGene is a multi-platform compatible bioinformatics software that enables design of genes with optimized features for expression in organism of choice.
