Even as India struggles to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) — a set of universal goals to end poverty, hunger and achieve equality– policymakers are not really aware of the key indicators of gender equality, a new study has found.

The idea was to understand “where change needs to happen in order to keep us on track to reach the SDGs for girls and women by 2030”, said the study Equal Measures 2030, an advocacy, which interviewed policymakers in Colombia, Indonesia, India, Kenya and Senegal on gender equality.
