World oil prices climbed today as the market geared up for an extraordinary meeting of OPEC in Doha later in the week.New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in November, advanced 63 cents to $59.20 per barrel in electronic deals before the official opening of the US market.In London, Brent North Sea crude for November delivery gained 29 cents to $59.81 per barrel in electronic trading.OPEC meet on Oct 19 to discuss output cutOrganization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will hold an emergency meeting on October 19 to discuss a 1 million barrel-a-day output cut, an OPEC delegate said.The meeting will occur in Doha, Qatar, a United Arab Emirates official said today.The group will convene in Qatar to discuss a 'voluntary' supply cut aimed at reviving oil prices that have fallen by a quarter in the last three months.OPEC's scheduled meeting was due on December 14 in Abuja, Nigeria.Oil prices higher in Asian tradeOil prices rose in Asian trade today, hovering around $60 a barrel ahead of an extraordinary OPEC meeting this week to discuss a production cut to check a price decline, dealers said.At 11:15 am (local time), New York's main contract, light sweet crude for November delivery, was up 43 cents at $59 a barrel from $58.57 in late US trade Friday.
