The persistent problem of low voltage and power interruptions in the state is expected to be minimized now, thanks to the commissioning of the 400/220 KV grid sub-station by the Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) at Mendhasal on the outskirts of the city.
This sub-station has been commissioned by OPTCL at a cost of Rs 160 crore. City-based AK Das Associates Ltd, an ISO certified electrical EHT construction firm, has carried out the grid substation project
The sub-station was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday in the presence of state energy minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak; Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani; state energy secretary Pradeep K Jena; managing director of OPTCL Hemant Sharma and Amiya Kanta das, chairman and managing director of A K Das & Associates Ltd.
