The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is exploring the possibility of probing other 2G spectrum scam accused in the latest controversy of alleged collusion between CBI prosecutor A K Singh and Sanjay Chandra, Unitech managing director. But, the agency has to first ascertain the genuineness of the audio CD received from an anonymous source, CBI sources said.

A CBI official said a team was looking into the damage that might have caused to the prosecution on account of the tapped conversation.

CBI is also suspecting the timing of the tape release, just two days before the joint parliamentary committee meeting, though officials said the recording was made in September 2012. CBI will also investigate the source of the audio CD.

CBI said it could not take any action based on an audio tape whose authenticity is yet to be established. CBI will also find out if the said conversation took place over telephone or in a face-to-face meeting.
