Pakistan is planning to remove diesel from its negative list of imports from India.

Pakistan's petroleum and natural resources secretary M Abdullah Yusuf today told newsmen on the sidelines of an oil and gas conference here that his country was willing to do all that was necessary to remove diesel from the negative list of imports from India.

The Pakistani official, who also met Indian petroleum secretary B K Chaturvedi here today, said the case of removal of diesel from the negative list made economic sense.

"I do not know why we should not let this happen," Yusuf said.

Yusuf has also invited Chaturvedi to Islamabad for secretary-level discussions for cooperation between the two countries in the area of hydrocarbons.
