Enjoying bonhomie from Indian buyers, the Pakistan business community has increased their participation for the 15th CII Chandigarh fair.
Javed Iqbal, promoter Paras Industries and member Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) said, against 38 companies which participated in the fair last year, this year around 84 companies would participate. The fair is being organised in Chandigarh from October 29 to November 1.
Items like melamine crockery, stylish leather, wall hangings, embroidery floor rugs and embroidered fabrics would be showcased during the fair.
R M Khanna, chairman, CII Northern Region maintained the fair would envisage participation by 421 exhibitors.
Last year the fair generated business inquiries worth well over Rs 19 crore and the organisers are expecting the business to surge considering positive sentiments among the masses.
The fair would witness international participation from countries like Pakistan, Thailand, Canada and Singapore.

Apart from participation by automobile majors like Fiat, Mahindra & Mahindra ,Tata Motors, Royal Enfield and Maruti, which would be showcasing their latest models, social expo is also planned concurrently.
Charu Mathur, Regional Director, CII Northern Region maintained with a dedicated space of more than 350 sqm for Social Exposition CII look forward to promote the work of various NGOs and other related organisations contributing towards the society, through this initiative”, she exclaimed .
The Social Expo Display includes items made by inmates of Tihar jail, spices/craft items made by mentally challenged, hand embroidered works of the beneficiaries of skill development initiative for women, displaying handicrafts apparel made by SHGs,
Apart from this the state pavilion would have states like Gujarat, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Orissa , UP participating and showcasing their products.
