The operatorship issue of the Panna, Mukta and Tapti oil fields is costing the British Gas-Reliance-ONGC consortium a production loss of Rs 1.5 crore per day.
The ouput of gas from the fields, currently at 7.5 million metric standard cubic metres a day, can be increased by 5 million metric standard cubic metres in case the operatorship issue is resolved and the consortium partners invest $300-400 million.
At the prevailing prices of gas in the country, the additional revenue from the increased production would be Rs 1.5 crore, petroleum secretary B K Chaturvedi said today.
