The Allahabad High Court today issued notices to Union Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Steel Authority of India (Sail) and a news channel on a public interest litigation (PIL) alleging misuse of the PSU's funds by the former.A division bench of the Lucknow bench of the HC, comprising Justice D P Singh and Justice J M Paliwal, issued notices to the concerned parties after hearing the PIL, which also sought a special audit of Sail by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).The PIL, filed by a local lawyer on Tuesday, alleged that Paswan misused his power and position to misappropriate huge sums of Sail's money.The petition also sought a direction to Sail to recover the entire amount from the minister with interest, and his disqualification from the Parliament.The petitioner has furnished footage aired by the private news channel, Star News, to substantiate his allegations.
