The government will take up the long-awaited Pension Fund Regulatory Development Authority (PFRDA) Bill as well as amendment to Banking Regulatory Act in the forthcoming Budget session of Parliament."The coming Budget would address many concerns of economic reforms... Good news in the coming Budget will be pension reforms. We will table PFRDA Bill in the forthcoming session," minister of state in PMO Prithviraj Chavan said at the FICCI Annual Capital Market Conference here today.The second important bill will be the amendment in the Banking Regulation Act. The amendments will try to bring clarity on consolidation through acquisition in the banking industry, especially the buy-out of weaker private sector banks by Indian as well as foreign banking majors.A consensus on acquisition of weak banks by healthier ones of India and foreign was needed through the amendment in the Act, he said.The minister said for a true integrated common Indian market, the government was planning a greater interaction with global trade bodies.The government is also mulling removing cap of foreign investment in several areas."We also have to go for disinvestment of several public sector companies and banks. The money will be put in a ational Invesment Fund, which will be used in revival of sick public sector undertakings," Chavan said.
