Petroleum dealers will go on nationwide strike demanding a hike in dealers commission, Federation of All India Petroleum Traders said today.
The strike date will be announced from Delhi later, R Sabarinath, Federation National Joint Secretary, told reporters here.
Sabarinath, who is also organising secretary, Kerala State Petroleum Traders Association, said petrol prices have been increased frequently since June 26. Even though there was frequent hike in petrol prices, no change has been effected in dealers commission, he alleged.
Though the report submitted by the ministry-appointed committee to study the problems of the sector recommended, among other things, implementing a hike in dealers commission and bringing control in the allotment of new pumps, it was not put into effect, he alleged.
