The steering committee of the council held its first meeting in the city on Thursday and discussed the future course of action to fulfil all the government's conditions so that the council would start functioning from April 1. |
The steering committee elected D B Mody of JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Venkat Jasti, the president of BDMA (Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association) and MD of Suven Life Sciences , as the chairman and the vice-chairman of Pharmexcil respectively. |
The steering committee consists of N H Israni (Blue Cross Laboratories), K Nityananda Reddy (Aurobindo Pharma), Arun Sawhney (Dr Reddy's Laboratories), and Nalvade (Aventis). |
The executive committee members of BDMA, Indian Drug Manufacturers Association and Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India, also took part in the meeting. |
The meeting was also attended by state major industries minister K Vidyadher Rao, principal secretary (industries) KV Rao and the APIIC vice-chairman and MD, L V Subramanyam. |
