Plantation sector revamp

The United Planters' Association of Southern India (Upasi) has initiated steps towards restructuring of plantation sector and also initiated moves in changing marketing strategies on plantation based commodities.

According to E B Sethna, president of Upasi, he along with past president Anil Bhandari, plan to meet Union commerce minister Kamal Nath and senior officials of commerce and labour ministry in Delhi shortly to start the process.

This is in line with the recently concluded annual Upasi conference suggestion.
