A Cabinet reshuffle is unlikely before July 8 with President Pratibha Patil leaving for Hyderabad and Tirupati and is expected to return on July 7.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today called on the President, amid reports of a Cabinet reshuffle doing the rounds. The PM had also hinted at it during the interaction with senior editors two days ago.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said the meeting between the two leaders lasted for 45 minutes during which they discussed the Parliament's monsoon session and the present political situation. “They also discussed various other issues of national and international importance,” the spokesperson said in a statement..
Patil is going to Hyderabad at a time when protests for a separate Telangana has again raised its head. Pro-Telangana activists have promised to seek a meeting with her.
