Seven power utility companies, including four international firms, are in the race to acquire a 51 per cent stake in the Haryana State Electricity Board's distribution company in the northern zone.
The shortlisted international companies include the US-based AES Power Utility Corporation, China Light and Power, United Utilities and PSEG Global BSES.
The domestic companies' list includes BSES, RPG Group in association with ABB, and Ahmedabad Electricity Company.

According to Haryana ministry sources, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, the merchant banker mandated to identify the buyers, has submitted the list of companies to the state government.
