Police have undertaken a special drive to maintain law and order during elections to Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) slated on February 16.
"We are checking illegal sale of liquor, looking for unlicenced firearms, tracing absconding criminals and preparing a list of anti-social elements who will face action," officials said.
NMC Commissioner Bhaskar Sanap and Police Commissioner Vinod Lokhande informed that authorities are taking steps to curb activities of criminals. According to them, 15 polling centres out of a total of 1,340 have been declared as sensitive.
