The programme to attract an estimated investment of Rs 10,000 crore, as announced by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Babulal Gaur soon after coming back from the US last month, appears uncertain because of political uncertainty in the state. |
The venue of the programme has also been changed from Indore to Bhopal. The state government had planned to accord a red carpet welcome to at least 500 US investors in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). |
"The venue of the programme has been changed from Indore to Bhopal and the time from February to March,"said a state secretariat source . |
The source also said, "Gaur had announced as many as 500 US investors would sign a memorandum of understanding (MoUs) in February in Indore. Now the programme and its sessions will take place in Maulana Azad College of Technology on March 4-5, 2006." |
After completing his Chicago and London visits, Gaur had assured that industrialists from the US and the UK had agreed to invest Rs 10,000 crore, a claim contested by former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh. |
