Poor vision awareness in school children: Study

 A study conucted by the global eyecare company Bausch & Lomb along with a NGO called View, covering 1.3 lakh students from 331 schools in 11 cities across the country, revealed that 51 per cent of the students who needed vision correction are not even aware of it.

 However, the positive aspect of the study is that the awareness level has slightly gone up as compared to last year which showed an unawareness level of 54 per cent.

 As per the study about 20 per cent of the students in the age-group of 10 to 16 years were identified with refractive errors and about 17 per cent of them were found to have weak eyesight in schools.
