After Madhya Pradesh, now Chhattisgarh says it has become a power-deficit state. |
The Raman Singh government has blamed the Centre for the power crisis in the state and objects to the central government's move to reduce the central power quota. |
"It has also led to a situation where the state has a shortfall of 500-600 Mw, which is almost 30 per cent of the demand," a government spokesperson said, quoting Raman Singh's letter to the Prime Minister and Power Minister P M Sayeed. |
Raman Singh has requested the Centre to "intervene and restore full allocation to Chhattisgarh from the central sector's quota". |
According to the chief minister, the ministry of power has withdrawn 288 MW from the central sector's quota. |
