Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today parried questions on Centre's plans to bring the stalemate in Parliament to an end in the wake of the opposition demand for a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum scam.

"I have nothing to say now. I am already late. I have to attend more programmes," Mukherjee told reporters in Murshidabad district when asked about how the Centre plans to break the logjam in Parliament.

Mukherjee, who arrived in Kolkata last night, had a late night meeting with Railway minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee and is understood to have discussed the strategy.

Mukherjee's busy schedule for the day started with the foundation-laying of AMU's Murshidabad centre, besides attending an IFFCO programme here.

He later left for Farakka en route to Kolkata by helicopter.
