Senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee today steered clear of questions with which party the Congress would align to form the next government in Jharkhand which is heading towards a hung Assembly.

"Let the result first come out. Now the trends are available and various combinations are working. Ultimately it will depend on the numbers. Right now it is very difficult to say with whom the government will be formed," Mukherjee told reporters here.

He was answering to a question on whether the Congress will go with JMM to form government in Jharkhand and who will be the Chief Minister.

Mukherjee's comments came after emerging trends indicated a hung Assembly in Jharkhand in which the Congres led alliance appears to be having a slight edge over NDA.

The party, which contested the polls in alliance with Babulal Marandi-led Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrkik), has said to be open to having a post-poll tie up with Shibu Soren led JMM, which has fought separtely in this Assembly election.

"People have elected us as the single largest group. They expect us to form the government," AICC secretary in-charge for Jharkhand K Keshav Rao told reporters in Delhi.

He also said "we will talk to every one. We know that the magic figure (to form the government) is not with us. For us taking support is necessary. We welcome support from any secular party..."
