Prithipal Singh, chairman and managing director, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), has decided not to take up the post of Member (Services), Telecom Commission.
Singh was offered the job after the retirement of D P S Seth, who was appointed Member, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
Seth, who had been heading BSNL earlier, had quit the post after he was offered a position in the commission, under the communications ministry.
BSNL sources said Singh has chosen to remain the chairman and managing director of the telecom public sector undertaking till his superannuation in December this year.
