Private airlines owe Rs 304.65 cr to AAI: Patel

Private carriers owe a whopping Rs 304.65 crore to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on account of various navigation and other facilities being provided by it to the airlines, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said today.

"The total dues of private airlines as on June 30 works out to Rs 304.65 crore," he informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply.

Of this, Kingfisher Airlines has a due of Rs 184.87 crore, Jet Airways Rs 36.33 crore, Jet Lite Rs 14.66 crore, Indigo Rs 11.19 crore, SpieceJet Rs 11.14 crore, Go Air Rs 5.29 crore and Paramount Rs 4.53 crore while the rest is due with other airlines.

He said AAI was in constant touch with these airlines for realisation of dues.

Whenever any private airline defaults in making payments, necessary action is taken for recovery of dues, he added.
