Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi today appealed to the voters of Rae Bareli to vote for the developmental work brought out by her mother and party president Sonia Gandhi in the constituency and not to be swayed away by tall promises made by other political parties.
Addressing an election rally here, Priyanka urged the voters to exercise their franchise wisely by choosing development and ensure that the future generation live comfortably.
Stating that her mother had nurtured the constituency and worked hard for its development over the years, Priyanka requested the voters to cast their votes in favour of Sonia Gandhi "to send across a message" to the entire country that "development alone would find favour" among the commonman.
"The power to change your future, to choose an MP, and to ensure development in the country in general and in your constituency in particular, is in your hands. The government has ensured that you hold that power. Use it wisely," she said.
The constituency, which has been the Congress' bastion and Gandhi family's Peterborough, will go to the polls in the third phase of polling on April 30.
