Patriotic songs and slogans accompanied by beating of drums by Anna Hazare supporters electrified the atmosphere at the Ramlila Maidan here as the Gandhian's fast enters ninth day today.
About 400 protesters peacefully sat on the ground whole night braving heavy rainfall which lashed the city. Scores of supporters sang patriotic songs and played drums and other musical instruments to support the anti-corruption movement.
"We are fasting with Anna for the past eight days. We want all his demands to be accepted unconditionally," said one Ram Kumar, who has come from Bhiwani, Haryana.
As the protest is getting momentum and more public support day-by-day, a number of enthusiastic volunteers coordinated with the crowd late in the night and in the morning.
While some of the supporters were shouting pro Jan Lok Pal slogans from inside the temporary tents meant to save them from rainfall, a group of volunteers was cleaning the garbage containing empty food and beverage packets from the huge ground.
"It is for the welfare of the whole country. Anna is cleaning the country. What is the problem if I clean this ground," said Paramjeet Singh, a DU student.
Hazare supporters have put posters containing anti-graft slogans on almost all the walls inside the historical Ramlila Maidan. People chanted mantras and conducted yagna for the well being of the 73-year-old Gandhian.

"I have asked my friends and other family members to shun work and join this campaign. After all it is for the welfare of the country," said Manisha, who is a Agra-based teacher.
For 39-yr-old Ramakant, the Ramlila Maidan has become a battleground for people to deal with the crises.
