K S Balachandra, head -technical, Nagarjuna Power has clarified that the damage caused to the office and property of the company at Padubidri in Udupi District on 20th August 2005 is by some misled people as the land along with all necessary structures, buildings have been acquired by Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board.

This land and buildings have been given possession to Nagarjuna Power for setting up their 1,015 MW Power plant. This is evident as per KIADB letter dated August 20.

"We confirm that the project work is going ahead after obtaining all statutory approvals from Karnataka Government and Government of India. The people of the area are with the project except for few misguided people who are doing these illegal activities for their vested interest. It is once again requested that the project authorities are allowed to set up the project in a peaceful manner to enable the benefits of growth, development and employment to reach all the people," he added.
