The Nagar Road Industries Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture (NRICCA) is planning to set up a 'Kaizen College' in the city, which would be a joint effort with the Kaizen Institute and would be the second such initiative in the country after Chennai. Kaizen is a Japanese management concept for incremental change.

The institute will offer three-month courses in Kaizen implementation for company executives. The facility would get underway by mid-2006 and a dedicated infrastructure for the same would be set up, which is likely to come up in a year.

The Kaizen Institute, Japan, has confirmed Kaizen award to the city-based Milton Plastics Ltd. This was announced by Sensei Masaaki Imai, founder & chairman of the Kaizen Institute - Japan, in a keynote address at the 3rd Annual Kaizen Mela.

According to Sensei, during the recent audit conducted by the institute, it was found that Milton Plastics has made satisfactory improvements on the parameters specified by the institute in the previous audit, which further strengthened its claim for the award.
