With Congress party leading in eight of 13 the Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab, senior party leader Amarinder Singh today attributed the outcome of the people's rejection of SAD (B) government's performance in the state.
"The way our party is ahead at many a seats in Punjab over SAD clearly says that the people of the state have rejected the leadership of SAD (B) particularly the arrogant behavior of the Sukhbir Singh Badal (Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister) for failing on all accounts during the last two years," Singh told media persons here.
He said one of the reasons for Congress' good show was due to transfer of traditional votes of BJP in small towns in favour of candidates of Congress. "We have observed that BJP votes have also come to us during this time as people were unhappy with SAD-BJP government in the state," he claimed.
Singh claimed that after the results are declared, the SAD and BJP would face a split for not performing in the elections and because majority of SAD leaders are not happy with Sukhbir Badal.
