Speaking to Business Standard, K C Mehra, chairman, National Board for Quality Promotion, QCI, said, "We are planning to open atleast 50 chapters across India over a period of time. Already, two such chapters are operational in Maharstra and Gujarat. Very soon we will open a chapter in Odisha and Bangalore. In Punjab, we are looking at opening in Mohali at PTU's Gian Jyoti School of TQM & Entrepreneurship. Each chapter will act as an empowered centre of QCI where members will network and organise activities including monthly round tables, seminar, programme to promote quality in various domains of Industry, healthcare, education and public services, etc."
Mehra was in the city at the ninth NorthWest Qualtech Convention & Awards organised by Mohali-based PTU's Gian Jyoti School of TQM & Entrepreneurship in Chandigarh. He said, "A corporate member can make a request to form a chapter. A chapter should have a minimum of 50 members. Further, the members within the chapter can belong to different sectors like industry, healthcare, education, etc.. Currently, we have 120 corporate members and 322 individual members across the country." He added, "We will provide support to the chapters, by way of sending professionals and experts to address to the members."
