Rail budget's simple and for common man: CCI

Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee's Railway Budget is simple, growth oriented and in the interest of the common man, said the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu.     

The introduction of 12 new non-stop trains, trains that stop only at the final destination, is greatly appreciated, says the president of CCI Ram Sahai in a statement today.     

Among the projects that came under praise were: the modernisation of 50 selected stations, the plan to change 319 other stations as multi-purpose functional complex stations, changing the toilet system and changes in catering and bed roll services.      

Sahai also praised the introduction of Ladies Special, Yuva Special trains and the Rs 25 monthly pass issued under the 'Izzat' scheme. Concessional tickets with up to 60 per cent discount for media and students, increase of cargo coaches by another 7000 and completion of double tracking on certain routes.
