Railways' corridor project goes in for registration

Indian Railways' much awaited Rs 66,000-crore Multi-Modal High Axle Freight Corridor project connecting the four metros - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai as also their diagonals - will be named "Railways Freight Corporation of India Ltd."

"The project is going in for registration. It will be known as Railways Freight Corporation of India Ltd," railway ministry sources said here today.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will lay the foundation stone for the first two Corridors, Eastern and Western at Ludhiana (Punjab) and Mumbai (Maharashtra) on September 27, a day after he celebrates his 75th birthday.
