Indian Railways is planning to set up training centres at all divisional headquarters in order to impart training to its staff, R Gopinathan Nair, additional general manager, Southern Railways, said. |
"The recent railway budget had allocated funds for setting up the training centres. In the first phase, centres would be set up at Palakkad (under Southern Railways) and Rangiya Division (under North Frontier Railways)," he added. |

Speaking at the valedictory function of training programme for Angolan Railway Officials at Central Railway Workshops, Goldenrock, near here, Nair added that the training centres would be meant for giving training to senior supervisors and other staff belonging to Group C and Group D categories. |

"Southern Railway is planning to introduce teaching modules of international standards. It has also approached the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation," he added. The Delhi centre was following a teaching method modelled on the Japanese, Korean and German systems. |

He pointed out that the Goldenrock Workshop can envisage a master plan to create a state-of-the-art training centre in its premises. |

Speaking on the occasion, S Rangarajan, chief workshop manager of the Goldenrock Workshop, said the training programme was meant for officials of CFM Railways, Angola and the course contents included locomotive mainatinance, carriage and wagon mainatinance and workshop practices. |
