Ram Sethu Row: Govt seeks reply from ASI chiefBS Reporter / New Delhi September 15, 2007Union minister for tourism and culture Ambika Soni's troubles seem far from over as far as the affidavit on the Ram Setu project is concerned.Today, she met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at the latter's residence in 10 Janpath, and handed over the draft of the affidavit first prepared by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) that she had approved with the file notations asking that controversial references to Hindu god Rama be deleted.Sources confirm that Gandhi had called up Soni in Tokyo where the minister was at the time that the affidavit controversy broke.The sources also say that Gandhi was agitated that how such an inflammatory affidavit was allowed to be submitted, at which Soni explained her part in the drama.Yesterday, at a press conference, Soni had said that she and her officials had made three specific corrections to the affidavit of which two were incorporated and a third, which was to be deleted, was not.
