Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that the state government would examine the recommendations of the sixth pay commission to give its employees a better pay deal after the Central government implemented it for its employees.
“The Centre had announced to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. We are examining the recommendations to give a better package to the state employees," Dr Singh told reporters here.
He added that several steps have been taken by the government in last four years in favour of the state employees.
As far as hike in salary is considered the government is examining the matter, Dr Singh said.
High level sources said that the state government was under extreme pressure to follow the Central government to hike the salary of the state employees.
The UPA government recently announced to implement the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations that would give average 21 percent hike in the salaries of over 50 lakh government employees with effect from January 1, 2006.
