Speaking to the media, Gowd informed that the fellowship was given in recognition his outstanding services to the advancement of the science and art of dentistry and for promoting the values of ethics, excellence and professionalism in dentistry and in community.
Gowd, the honourary dental surgeon to the Andhra Pradesh governor, is the immediate past-president of Indian Prosthodontic Society. He is also a fellow of international dental organisations like American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Federation of Dentistry Internationale etc.
