The discovery of more gas in Block D6 in the deepwaters of the Krishna-Godavari basin by Reliance Industries has led to an upward revision of the total in-place reserves in the block to 9 trillion cubic feet (tcf), reports the Press Trust of India.
The directorate general of hydrocarbons has informed the petroleum ministry that the discovery of more gas in the sixth well has led to the enhancement in the reserves estimates in the block from 7 tcf to 9 tcf.
DGH has also upwardly revised the plateau production from the block to 30-40 million standard cubic metres per day (mmscmd) over a period of 8 years from its earlier estimate of 25-35 mmscmd.
