Karnataka excise minister Renukacharya accused former Lok Ayukta Justice Santosh Hegde of falsely implicating B S Yeddyurappa in several cases at the behest of opposition parties.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Renukacharya said Justice Hegde was biased in his final report, leaving out former chief minister N Dharam Singh and other Congress leaders who had figured in the interim report.
“It was a conspiracy hatched by Congress, JD(S) and the governor against Yeddyurappa and Justice Hegde was part of it” Renukacharya alleged and expressed confidence that Yeddyurappa would come out clean and take the reins of governance as chief minister again.
He said, the Congress had no moral right to speak against the BJP government as their own leaders including the prime minister and home minister at the Centre were facing serious corruption charges. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit have been accused in 2G spectrum scam and have continued in power while Yeddurappa resigned on moral grounds on being accused, Renukacharya pointed out.
He said, the BJP had won all the by-elections despite malicious campaigning by the Congress and JD(S) and it would also win the Bellary Rural by-poll.
On the final report of Lok Ayukta against on mining scam, he said the report had several loopholes and the government would decide on accepting it or otherwise after seeking clarifications on the lacunae.
