Alleging a scam of Rs 150 crore in distribution of farm equipment under the chief minister’s package for Vidarbha farmers, state BJP chief Nitin Gadkari has demanded a CBI inquiry into it. Addressing a press conference, Gadkari said that under the Rs 1,075 crore package, 60,000 farmers were to be distributed farm equipment like pumps, power sprayers, sprinklers and bullock carts. However, the beneficiaries were provided poor quality equipment at excessive rates, thanks to the connivance of Congress-NCP politicians in siphoning off Rs 150 crore, Gadkari alleged.
