The sales tax dues of the Delhi government touched Rs 6,999 crore by the end of 2001-02, according to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
This is nearly twice the Rs 3,704 crore sales tax collected in 2001-02 and higher than the total tax and non-tax revenues of the state, Rs 6,253 crore.
