The Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (VKA), a frontal organisation of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh working among tribals, plans to reconvert about 5,000 tribal Christians to Hinduism over the next two months in the tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh, according to BJP MP and VKA activist Dilip Singh Judev.

This is a part of the VKAs grand plan to reconvert all Christians who were originally Hindus. This will be a befitting reply to those Christian missionaries who are carrying out conversion activities in the garb of social service, he said.

The Central government should publish a white paper on the role of Christian missionaries, he demanded, alleging that militancy in the north-east, more particularly militancy by Bodo activists, was being encouraged by Christian missionaries. He said that he would soon write a letter to Prime Minister IK Gujral on the issue.

He had written similar letters to former Prime Minsiter HD Deve Gowda and Union home minister Indrajit Gupta, he claimed.

About Rs 4,500 crore from 77 Christian countries are being sent to India annually to spread Christianity, he alleged.

Judev was particularly critical of Mother Teresa of the Missionaries of Charity and charged her with encouraging and patronising conversion activities in the country through social service. If she was serious in her mission, she should try to establish missionary institutions in Iran, Iraq or Libya, he said. He kept on referring to Mother Teresa as Madam Teresa and said that we are totally against her design to convert Hindus to Christianity.
